Wow...can't believe it's Thursday already. Gotta love short weeks.
My weekend in Vegas was just as fun as I thought it would be. Although, by the end of day two I wanted to get the hell outta that shithole. I can't stand more than a couple of days there. It was cool though, I got to know a new person...a girl my friend Melanie works with. Her name is Tyra and she's a really fun chick. The three of us had a great time together. I only lost a little money in the slots and those were the only things I played. I just don't understand how people can sit at those things for hours and hours and blow money. They just suck it away from you. They lure you in with a few wins and then it's just lose, lose, lose! Walking the strip was fun, got to see various freaks and such. Very fun to people watch there.
This week has been pretty good so far. It had been raining since last Thursday and it finally stopped yesterday morning. We encountered some pretty harsh weather on the drive to and from Vegas. It was downright SCARY, actually. I had a sore neck by the time we got home because I was so tense for the last part of the trip. But I'm very happy to see the sun, this IS California. So it finally stopped raining which means I could finally go outside and jog this week.
I finally got a meeting in with my friend that I'm going to be illustrating a book for... We had been trying to get together on this project for YEARS. She is an extremely busy person though, works two jobs and goes to school. I don't know how she does it! But the book will be on the way as soon as I get my butt in gear and do some drawings. This will be my second major illustration project, my other one is in the works...well sorta, just waiting for it to be picked up by a publisher (crossing fingers).
I haven't been able to see my boyfriend as much as I'd like to this week. We've both been pretty busy and it's really complicated by the fact that he works nights. So I will be seeing him at 11:00 tonight...bleh. I'd better nap. I also get to go grocery shopping tonight....double bleh. I hate grocery shopping. I've avoided it long enough though 'cause I can't scrape together any more meals.
That's about it for this exciting entry.... Later!

First online diary entry...when this was a diary

Okay, this is officially my first entry. Isn't that exciting??? I've never really kept a diary so this should be interesting. The closest thing that I'd ever kept up with was a journal in 9th grade. It was really fun to read later on, so this should be interesting.
Well, my plans for the weekend are pretty good...I'm going to Vegas with my best friend and some of her work friends. I've met one of her work friends and she's really cool, so this should be a lot of fun. I hate Vegas, and would NEVER live there...but it's cool to visit occasionally, especially with friends for a nice intoxicating weekend. It's great too, 'cause it's a three day weekend! Awriiiiiiiiiiiight!!! M'kay...that's about it for my first entry. I'll be back!

The essential "Random facts about me" page

The I, I, I, ME, ME, ME page. Every Blog needs one, right? Here are some facts that you might or might not care to know about me:

I am 3/4 Italian and 1/4 Irish.

I have medium length, naturally curly hair that I absolutely loathed until about five years ago when I finally learned how to control it.

My hair is a great asset and I get compliments on it all the time.

I have hazel eyes.

I am 5'6" tall with a medium athletic build.

I am happy with my body. I like to keep somewhat active to keep up that little bit of muscle tone, even though I'm not that keen on exercising. Oh well, gotta do what I gotta do.

I am the youngest of three kids. I have two older brothers, one 7 years older, one 9 years older.
My parents are still married (39 years) and are actually happy. A rare thing. They are retired. I hope to build a similiar life.

I grew up in a normal, middle class household (2.5 kids and a dog!)

My childhood was pretty happy. I really knew how to entertain myself in imaginative ways.

I love my family.

My favorite toy was My Little Pony. I still have my herd.
I still reside in the city where I grew up, in Southern California. Although it's a pretty decent town, I'm sick to death of it and hope to one day move...not sure where yet.

It would be hard to leave here though, because the weather is great and it's not too far from the beach.

I LOVE the beach and swimming in the ocean. I love swimming period. I was on the swim team all through highschool and junior college.

I love nature.

I love animals (duh). I love my pets, Pickles and Punkin' the lovebirds, Toby the parrotlet, Stanley kitty, Rosie the tarantula (she's a sweet natured Chilean Rose tarantula) and a freshwater aquarium.

Aquariums and fish have always fascinated me. I want a reef tank in my livingroom someday. Preferably in the wall between two rooms. Ooooooohhhh....

I LOVE music and am somewhat musically inclined. I have a good ear. I have to listen to music almost every day. I especially love to sing, but only when I'm by myself! I want to take voice lessons some day. I also want to learn to play an instrument.

I am in LOVE. I am getting married for the first time on April 21, 2007 to my Ronnie poop.

Ron is a wonderful, sweet, kind, respectful and intelligent man. He artistic and loves music and animals. He is also the typical male stubborn mule. But he's SUCH a man.

I am an office manager at a small wholesale company that sells goods that are imported from Poland.

I like my job and have been here for 3 years.

My boss is a very cool, understanding guy.

I am also an artist. My favorite medium is pencil and ink. I'm pretty damn good, if I do say so myself!

I am a "true artist" in that I don't give a shit if I ever make money at it. I'd rather do it for myself.
However, I have illustrated my first children's book with a partner. It is in the works, looking to be picked up by a publisher (crossing fingers).

I am not a career person and I hate school. It all just makes me too nervous!

I am a nervous/anxious person.

I take life one day at a time. NO, I've never been to AA....

I live in a cute little backhouse with Ron. I used to love it, but that was when I was alone there. Now it's getting way too small. I can't wait to get more room!

In highschool I was completely OBSESSED with Pearl Jam. My first boyfriend was Eddie Vedder...HAHA! I have a shitload of scrapbooks with his face plastered all over 'em. Oh Eddie...the times we had....

Some of my other favorite bands are Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Incubus, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Beatles, Zepplin...oh, WAY too many to list!

I like to smoke and drink, but not excessively, although I do have an addictive personality.

I love cheese noodles and hotdogs with ketchup...all in a bowl with lots of pepper!

I love Spaghetti-Os.

I love artichokes.

I love brownies (regular and pot :D)

I had a miserable first year of highschool, but got the hang of it by sophomore year. It wasn't so bad, I had a great time on swim team and in art class. I'm actually glad I never had a boyfriend in highschool.

I don't like to travel very much. I am SUCH a homebody. I left the country for the first time last year when I went to China. I would like to go to Europe (Italy) one day, but if I don't, I really don't care.

I really want to go to Hawii or Cancun or just SOMEPLACE where the water is a beautiful torquiose blue. I will be doing that soon for my HONEYMOON!

I can't STAND ignorance.

I am losing faith in humanity.

I am trying to control my growing anger toward all the ignorance and just plain rotten people in the world. I have a good heart, I just get SO PISSED OFF sometimes. I know it's bad.

There is nothing I can do about it. Why stress over things I can't control? I tell myself that A-FUCKING-LOT.

I have two best friends that I've known since preschool.

I am not a very social person. I like close relationships with few people. I'm happy just hanging with small groups...2 or 3 people.

I've never thrown a huge party.

That is all for now. This will change over time.
